Doctor Rnold Saxty Good: 1875-1931
For Centuries the Rising Sun Inn has enjoyed a premier position in North Devon for sporting and leisure pursuits. The River Taw, which flows past its door and on occaison through them is generally accepted as the Sea Trout and Salmon River of the South West.
What Next
The catch record, following years of neglect by various landlords, has now fallen into the total stewardship of the owner, Nick and the manager of the club, Glyn. There are signs that the fishing is as good as it ever was. With the introduction of the fishing club and a change of landlord at the Rising Sun comes this opportunity.
This will allow members the chance to fish some of the finest water on the Taw. The formation of the club will also enable greater investment in the water and ongoing improvements.
Day Tickets Available
The Rising Sun Inn retains one Beat a day soley for use by it's patrons and for day tickets holders. These are available to book at £40 per day per rod by telephone The Rising Sun Inn on 01769 560 447.
